Description

Consider the trappings in life and the things that can trap you. Hinges are found on objects that can be closed up: a door to a room or closet, a diary, a cabinet. What else can be shut tight? Rivets are fasteners; what are they holding down? Any why are they where they are? Ribbons and lace can tie something up, appearing to be gentle and innocent, but are they? Then there are the trappings of the material lives we lead: jewelry, the lace and ribbons again, artifacts of our relationships like the pen and letter. Always look beyond the trappings to explore what it all means.
