Description
Free Fall is a whimsical bit of symbolism. On the surface, it is a whimsical forest scene with golden strung flowers and birdies watching a peacock perched on a filigree moon with a lace skirt and hanging jewels. What? If you look closer, it can be construed as commentary on our precarious pandemic situation. The peacock is sitting pretty, well, standing, on an ornate quarter moon, with some pretty objects hanging there safely, even if only by a thread. The butterfly bedecked peacock watches as a not-so-pretty, more common object is free falling. Behind the tree we see something strange and foreboding, amidst what seems like stars, but may very well be something else in the air, perhaps something unhealthy. The birdies, representing nature, are perched in an almost bare tree, watching all this chaos unfold. Or maybe it's just a pretty scene with birds and jewels and stars. You decide.
